Overview We are hiring for a Stylist at Ulta Beauty. The role involves engaging with guests, consulting on hair care needs, recommending products and services, and delivering quality professional services with a focus on the guest’s total look. This position supports the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) with emphasis on performance, people, and process. General Summary & Scope The Stylist is responsible for engaging with guests, consulting on their hair care needs, and delivering quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. They support the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through a focus on performance (service sales and productivity), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). Responsibilities Performance – Perform hair services (design, cuts, color, styling, treatments, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin, extensions, makeup applications) and may include ear piercing where applicable. Meet or exceed sales and productivity goals for hair services and contribute to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty. Demonstrate business acumen with understanding of business drivers and growth opportunities. Perform product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience. Support the execution of in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Stay informed on new and existing industry trends, products, and services; be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits to better serve guests. Maintain prompt, regular attendance. People – Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail/service recommendations; uphold high standards of customer service and salon image; serve all guests, including walk-ins, efficiently; partner with skin therapists and the retail team for a total-store guest experience; establish peer and brand partner relationships to deliver exceptional service; promote the guest loyalty program including credit and Ulta Beauty app; attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development. Process – Stay compliant with Ulta Beauty policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures; follow service protocols to ensure a consistent guest experience; use booking/creme clientele systems to schedule return services and events; communicate supply needs to the EM; maintain store operational standards (salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area); adhere to dress code; protect company assets; perform other operational tasks as directed. Job Qualifications Education Cosmetology license Experience Previous relevant salon experience is preferred Skills Proficiency with latest salon techniques for performing haircutting, color, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable) and the ability to develop skills across service categories Proficiency with equipment and chemicals used in technical work Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products Strong communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele Special Position Requirements Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Working Conditions Frequent mobility during shift; possible lifting up to 10 lbs Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching Ability to stand for long periods Continual coordination and manipulation of objects during shift If an associate has a disability that prevents performing an essential function, the Company will engage in an interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations. Pay range for this position is $18.00 per hour, with potential eligibility for services pay under the Company’s Services Compensation Plan.
