Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our Fire Engineering team, leading prescriptive and performance-based design strategies for various projects globally. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, capable of working collaboratively with architects and building owners to develop innovative fire safety solutions. Responsibilities include project management, technical leadership, mentoring, and client interaction.

Location

This position is based in our Los Angeles , San Francisco , or Oakland offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects, including planning, staffing, and delivery.
• Provide fire protection consulting services to clients such as architects, developers, and authorities.
• Develop client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
• Consult on fire and life safety codes (ICC, NFPA).
• Develop fire models and perform structural fire calculations.
• Design fire alarm, detection, and suppression systems.
• Conduct site visits and collaborate with project teams.
• Lead internal and external meetings, present design approaches, and contribute to research activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in fire protection.
• Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
• P.E. license in fire protection engineering or in progress.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software (FDS, CONTAM, AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, MS Office).
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
