Job Description

Have you ever been tasked with building a teleportation device to send guests to a waiting starship? Or to recreate an amphibious landing of marines during a World War II battle? Or to transform a restaurant into an enchanted forest? Join our team at ThemeWorks and you will have the opportunity to tackle creative challenges like these every day. And with clients that include internationally recognized leaders in theme parks, museums, and cultural institutions, you'll have the opportunity to help bring world-class experiences to life. If you're a project manager who thrives on making the impossible possible and wants to join a team that feels like home, you’ll fit right in here.

And the best part? You’ll get to do all this in a place you’ll actually love calling home. High Springs, just 20 minutes outside of Gainesville, Florida, offers the perfect backdrop for a fulfilling career and a great life outside of work. High Springs is all about charm and chill, with sparkling springs, lazy rivers, and that friendly, front-porch kind of lifestyle. And just down the road, Gainesville adds vibrant energy with the University of Florida, a buzzing arts and food scene, top-tier healthcare, and a rich cultural landscape that always has something going on. Whether you're into kayaking before work or catching live music after dinner, this area lets you have it all—without the traffic, stress, or big-city price tags.

As a project manager at ThemeWorks you will be a hub connecting our internal teams with the client across the life cycle of multiple projects. With the unique and creative demands of our projects, strategic thinking and proactive leadership will be key traits for driving successful outcomes as you navigate timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

Here are some additional qualifications for this role:

  • Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong day-to-day relationships
  • Foster growth and collaboration within the project team
  • Review project scope, budget, and schedule to ensure alignment with design intent, cost estimates, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain accurate budget projections, including risk assessments for cost, schedule, resource allocation, and quality
  • Create, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules that support timely and successful completion
  • Coordinate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope, and deliverables
  • Manage subcontractors as needed
  • Communicate scheduling needs both internally and externally keeping all stakeholders aligned
  • Monitor and manage project scope, addressing any changes or delays promptly
  • Actively advocate for project margins and financial performance
  • Draft and issue change orders as required, and coordinate invoicing requests
  • Act as a liaison across all internal departments, communicating project status effectively and professionally
  • Travel to conduct client meetings, perform site surveys, and for installations
  • Escalate issues appropriately to the Director of Project Management when necessary

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project or construction management
  • Understanding of fabrication methods and technology
  • Experience in the themed entertainment industry preferred
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Proficient in estimating labor and material costs
  • Ability to multi-task/manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality control
  • Technologically proficient with the ability to quickly learn new software tools
