PERMANENT Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist (MLT/MT)
Full Time – Laboratory Department
Floresville, TX
Pay Range: $19.52–$37.40/hr (based on experience)

 

Job Description:
Seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist to perform chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic testing to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. This role includes routine testing, QA/QC duties, instrument maintenance, and occasional off-site support.

 

Responsibilities:
• Perform chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluid, and other specimens
• Evaluate blood cells, morphology, and cell counts
• Conduct blood type, group, and compatibility testing for transfusions
• Analyze results and accurately enter data into the LIS
• Perform quality control procedures and maintain documentation
• Assist with research projects under Lab leadership
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on lab instruments
• Calibrate instruments and record repairs or malfunctions
• Review lab policies and procedures annually
• Complete all required COLA/CLIA training and competencies
• Train and supervise students as needed
• Report workload, QC, and personnel issues to the Technical Supervisor
• Perform phlebotomy duties in hospital, outpatient, and off-site locations
• Provide courier services for specimens to outlying clinics
• Communicate with patients professionally and reassure during procedures
• Ensure compliance with COLA, CLIA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards
• Maintain availability via phone/pager for laboratory consultation
• Travel between campuses as needed

 

Requirements:
• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
• MLT certification or eligibility under MLT regulations
• CPR certification preferred
• Valid Texas driver’s license (clean driving record required)
• Ability to travel locally between clinic and hospital locations

• Full-time, flexible shift options
• Non-exempt role
