Salary Range $20.00 - $27.00 Hourly
Machinist (Tooth Grinding & Bevel) Machinist (Tooth Grinding & Bevel) Job Summary: Set up, adjust and operate internal and/or external grinders to grind surfaces of exacting dimensional and finish requirements. Select wheels, feeds and speeds. Dress wheels to obtain desired contours.
Personal Characteristics: Results oriented with the ability to pay strong attention to detail. The successful candidate needs to be a pro-active self-started that can work independently. Excellent analytical and organizational skills are required for this position.
Principal Areas of Responsibility: As Tooth Grinding Machinist, this position is to:
- Loads and unloads own machine, assists and instructs others per supervisor's request
- Operate, adjust and upload equipment as necessary
- Meets quality standards and does setups on all assigned jobs
- Ensure all projects/parts comply with required specifications and meet quality standards
- Checks own work to insure it is meeting process and blueprint requirements
- Maintain equipment and cleanliness of working area
- Preform quality checks daily and assist with duties as needed
Specific Duties: Position must possess the following skills, qualifications and capabilities:
- Edit and proof new tapes and programs
- Develops program tapes to produce product as specified
- Informs supervisor of damages supplies and need for replacement
- Completes routine inspection to ensure quality product
- Complete duties as assigned in a timely manner
- Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety
- All other duties and activities as assigned or necessary
Education: - High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Work Experience: - Must have 5+ years related experience/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical and Mental Demands: - Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed above.
- The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
- Handle multiple projects (multi-task) in a fast-paced organization with shifting priorities.
- Resourceful, "hand-on", "roll-up sleeves" approach to work while maintaining professionalism, positive demeanor and quality-focused manner.
