Responsibilities Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan is a beautiful and state of the art 72-bed facility. Cedar Creek provides evidence-based treatment to adolescents and adults struggling with mental health issues. Learn more about Cedar Creek Hospital online at: Cedar Creek Hospital Description Our Health Information Coder: Reviews medical records to abstract the proper admitting, principal and secondary diagnoses and ensure the codes are applied to the patient medical record for billing. Adheres to the rules and regulations applied by State, Federal and other regulatory bodies regarding the coding process. Maintain accurate and up to date procedures based on coding clinics and webinars provided by our company and exhibits general knowledge of medical terminology. Provides queries to physicians when documentation is ambiguous, unclear, or otherwise unable to be determined. Hours and Location This position is part-time, with benefits, 20 hours per week. Please note that this is a remote eligible position, however, the candidate must reside in Michigan in case of any needs to come in office. Qualifications Position Requirements Degree in Health Information or a related area, or the equivalent training and education. CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, RHIA (One required) Behavioral health coding experience preferred. Work experience in Health Information Management and Microsoft Office applications Ability to navigate coding system(s) 3M Encoder and Hybrid Medical Record in an efficient and effective manner strongly preferred.
