Job Title: Forklift Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to perform maintenance, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting on various models of material handling equipment, including propane and electric forklifts. The role requires a candidate with 1-2 years of specific experience in material handling equipment. The mechanic will complete maintenance tasks at the internal customer location in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting on various models of material handling equipment.
• Work with propane and electric forklifts.
• Complete maintenance tasks at customer locations efficiently.
• Ensure all paperwork and data input related to job requirements are accurately completed.

Essential Skills

• Minimum three years of experience in repair and maintenance on material handling equipment.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance.
• Proficient with basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Valid Driver License.
• Customer service skills and abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or tech school graduate preferred.
• Must have own tools and be capable of becoming certified to operate equipment.
• Must be comfortable working alone and making decisions independently.
• Willingness to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach.

Work Environment

The position operates within warehouse environments, subject to hot and cold temperatures depending on the time of year. The standard shift is Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with some overtime as needed.

This is a Contract to hire position based out of Savannah, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
