Job Description F.A.R.M Summer Apprentice Agriculture Apprenticeship for Summer 2026
Entry Level Opportunity Position Summary: Assist the Field Operations Representative with daily responsibilities including research trial establishment, general maintenance, and support on plot tours.
Position Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in crop and trial establishment involving measuring and labeling plots, planting/transplanting crops, evaluate plots for efficacy and crop phytotoxicity, assist with irrigation systems, and harvest.
- Assist with loading and hauling equipment to research sites in the supervisor's territory.
- Perform field trial and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with establishment and monitoring of Sales demonstration trials.
- Entry of data into the SCOUT system.
- Assist in planting, pollinating, harvesting, weeding, preparing fields, preparing seed, sampling, detasseling, rogueing, and other field and outdoor seed activities related to crops and fields.
- Assist in the maintenance and improvement of the farms and assets.
- Provide support for the Safety program by adhering to all safety policies and attendance at regular company sponsored safety meetings.
- Assist by carrying out other responsibilities assigned.
Required Skills/Experience: (Please list your skills in your resume when submitting interested for the position) - Apprentice must be able to lift weights approximately 50lbs or less, be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, handle repetitive job tasks, and have the ability to perform tasks at waist level and below (bending over). The majority of field labor activities occur outdoors.
- Activities will require bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing.
- Extended hours or shift work may be requested during the peak seasons.
- May be required to work flexible hours which may exceed 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to read and write, to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English, and to perform assigned tasks accurately.
- Must be able to adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) when carrying out assigned tasks and to support all site safety requirements.
- Must be able to function as a team member, and to take daily direction from supervisors and managers.
- Minimum Age Requirement - 18 years of age at start date.
Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing a career as an Apprentice in agronomy, crop science, Ag business, agriculture technology systems, technology, engineering, or a related field of study.
