Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) $25-30

Job Description

We are seeking experienced heavy equipment operators for an industrial renovation project at an oil and gas compressor station. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operating heavy machinery to support construction, earthwork, and demolition projects. This role requires expertise in digging, trenching, loading trucks, and moving materials while ensuring safety around existing underground utilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hammer attachments to break up concrete and load it into trucks.
• Perform dirt work, including loading trucks, digging trenches, grading, and backfilling.
• Conduct demolition work as directed, ensuring the safe handling of debris and structures.
• Excavate around existing utilities with precision and care to avoid damage.
• Load, move, and stockpile dirt, gravel, aggregate, and other construction materials.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Follow site plans, blueprints, and instructions to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and project-specific guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator or in a similar safety role within an industrial or construction environment.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for operating heavy machinery.

There are opportunities for contractors to transition to direct employment and the possibility to travel from project to project. The role provides potential for career growth as employees will be working 10-hour days.

Work Environment

The work environment is an industrial construction setting, which involves working outside in all weather conditions. The usual schedule is Monday through Saturday, from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, but additional hours may be required. The typical workweek consists of five 10-hour days and one 8-hour day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mooresville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
